Tin Can Grasshopper

How to Make

1. Firstly, paint your tin can green with a sponge dabber. You can paint the base (grasshopper face) a lighter green by mixing green and white paint together.
2. Use the template to cut out the grasshopper’s wings from a plastic bottle. Get an adult to help as this part can be tricky.
3. Paint the wings light green.
4. For the antennas, stick two green craft sticks together at an acute angle.
5. To create the legs, stick two green craft sticks together at a wider angle. Try to make both legs the same angle to make sure each side of the grasshopper is even.
6. Stick the wings to the top of the can and the antennas to the front of the can (the Face).
7. Stick the legs to either side of the can.
8. Lastly, stick two wiggle eyes to the face of the grasshopper and draw a smile.

Use this technique to create other tin can insects to decorate your garden.
